I felt that the result of prelimary task went
extremely well. I think we were able to link the original band, The Beach Boys,
and link the song in with our video very well. I think this was down to the
fact we took the lyrics and acted out, more or less, every line of the song.
I also think that the editing of the video went well. I think that the editing on the beat went well and I think that it could only be improved by adding more effects e.g. colour correction.

I think the main 2 things that need to be improved
are the syncing of lips and instruments and the camera shots.
Most of the lip sysncing was accurate, however some
of the group lip syncing was off and the guitar syncing was out. Therefore it
didn’t really look like we were the musicians/singers.
Also, the camera shots weren’t steady, they were
quite unstable which was off putting and didn’t give a professional feel to the
video.
• Evidence of planning for your prelim needs to be added – show your preparation via storyboards, location shots, plans for mise-en-scene.
ReplyDelete• No refs to amplification / disjuncture / illustration – explain how they are used in the videos you selected – needs development,
• Obviously now ensure your evidence of conventions for your chosen genre is detailed and thorough, covering all the technical areas – you haven’t got any details here.
• Inspirational videos – needs a post to cover this.
• No posts on conventions of music promos for the genre that you have chosen – very important!!! You’ve got general conventions but nothing specific. Analyse two or three examples of videos from your genre: focus on the usual – camerawork, editing, mise-en-scene, use of performance / narrative.
• Potentially hitting L3 / C – ensure you keep research and planning thorough and detailed – but you haven’t completed all the posts set over the last two weeks.
