Plan for the day

The weather plan for the day wouldn’t affect us as we will be filming in a blackout barn, meaning that sun or rain will affect the lighting or the equipment.
The weather outside for when the narrative is filmed will also not affect us as we will be using a Canon 7D, which is a weatherproof camera, meaning that rain will not affect us filming outside.

The timings for the day are as follows:

9am – Arrive at the barn and load in
10am – Start filming Drum and Bass close ups
11am – Start filming Guitar close ups and band shots
1pm – Start filming narrative
5pm – Pack up and load out

Location Research

The first location we looked at was based in Leicester. It is an abandoned engineering plant located in a small town. The plant shut down in the 1950’s and was never refurbished. The plant itself is rather large and consists of many different sections. Thus meaning that we will be able to have many different backdrops. For example the outside could be used for the performance in the video, and the inside could be used for the narrative.

The second location we have looked in to is a barn situated on the outskirts of Bourne. The barn is owned by the father of a student at the school meaning that the possibility of being able to film there is high. The barn will give the video a secluded feel to the video. The video ‘Death Toll’ by the Sheffield based band ‘While She Sleeps’. The video itself doesn’t use a barn for it’s location, but the barn we will ve using will look like it. We are also very close to home meaning that The use of this location means that we are very close to home and can easily go back.

For our last location we have thought about using an new empty factory. We feel this location will be good because it fits in with the genre. We also think it will give the video a solitude feeling.

New location

The new location is a blackout barn, located on the outskirt of the local village called Pickworth. We have managed to secure a whole day with no curfew time, meaning that we can plan our day with no restrictions.
The barn is also located near a forest meaning that shooting our narrative can take place on the same day.

Emergency Group Meeting 25/10/2013

On Friday an emergency group meeting was called as the location we had planned, a barn on the outskirts of Bourne, has fallen through. Therefore we had to discuss what new location we have to pick. Kieran has contacted a friend who works for a local farmer and hopefully good news will be returned to us soon. If this location becomes the new setting then our plans will be able to stay the same.

Prop Planning

Instruments
The Schecter Omen 8 string guitar is the instrument that our track was recorded with and is the instrument that will feature within the video. This guitar looks very attractive and is very large due to having 8 strings rather than the conventional 5, so fits very well into our heavier genre as it produces a much meatier sound.

The bass guitar we will use is a Washburn T24 bass owned by Ben Thorogood who has given permission for actor Harry Thornburn to use during the performance shots in his role of bassist.

We will use a Perl Drum Kit also owned by Ben Thorogood who will also be acting as the drummer in our live shots. The same kit setup will be used as when the track was recorded to ensure instrument syncing is as accurate as possible.

We will also be using a Peavey and an Ashdown guitar amplifier owned by Charlie Green and Harry Thornburn who have agreed to let us use their large amplifiers that will fit in very well to our genre and will enable our live shots to look realistic to a gig style setup.
